Walking Hadrian's Wall Path
Presented by: Nadia Madill
The entire path is 84 miles (135 kms) and follows the course of Northern
Europe's largest surviving Roman monument and UNESCO World Heritage Site
"This National Trail was opened in 2003 in the border country between Scotland and England. The entire path is 84 miles (135 kms) and follows the course of Northern Europe's largest surviving Roman monument and UNESCO World Heritage Site. It took the Romans 6 years to build the actual wall. However, it took National Heritage 10 years to check every fencepost, signpost or waymark was correctly driven into the ground under the supervision of an archaeologist. This ensured that the integrity of the Wall was not in any way compromised."
