The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter had a busy day yesterday tending to a one-year-old with severe burns, an injured motorcyclist and winching a woman from the Coppermine Trail.

Rescue pilot Euan Stratford says it was a non-stop day on Wednesday, beginning with a rescue at Motueka Airfield.

A one-year-old had suffered serious burns just after 8.30am.

The young boy was had to be transported with his mother to Lower Hutt's specialist burn unit.

Euan says the team didn't have the time to make a coffee before attending another incident in Golden Downs.

A man in his 70's had fallen off his motorbike sustaining chest pains.

Euan says the man's riding partner had to drive a long way out to get cellphone reception to call for help.

The rescue crew landed on Kerr Hill Rd around 12.15pm and transported the man to Nelson Hospital with moderate injuries.

Directly off a medical transfer from Nelson Hospital to Wellington Hospital, the crew flew to the Coppermine Trail following a mountain biking accident.

At about 4pm a woman in her 50s had come off her mountain bike and had to be transported to Nelson Hospital.
