Diane and Graeme Ransom are hospitality pros, having run Hat Trick Lodge and various other accommodations around the country.  After operating a motel in Ashburton, they’re back in Motueka and thrilled to be the new owners of Nautilus Lodge Motel on High Street.

"We're very pleased to be back and can't wait for the busy summer season," Graeme says with a warm smile.

Their adorable labradoodle, Ellie, agrees. While in Ashburton, they took Ellie to the beach, but she refused to leave the car—a clear protest after experiencing our stunning local beaches like Kaiteriteri.  Needless to say, the trio is thrilled to be back in Motueka.

Feedback from Guests

With impressive online ratings, don’t just take our word for it, let’s find out how guests and their friends feel about Nautilus Lodge Motel.

“Some friends of ours stayed there.  It looked nice.  It may be the number one hotel in town. Definitely worth staying at. Excellent access to Abel Tasman National Park.”

“Beautiful big room.  There were 2 of us staying one night as part of cycling the Great Taste trail. Room was clean and very comfortable.
Luxury!  I would highly recommend this as a place to stay in Motueka.  Easy, flat, safe walk into town and restaurants.  Beach is close too.”

“Love this place. Totally in the right place for me and my family.”

Looking to the Future

As Graeme and Diane settle into their new roles as owners of the Nautilus Lodge Motel, they're excited about what the future holds.

"We're all about keeping up with the times and have big plans to upgrade the place," Graeme says.

Diane joins in with enthusiasm, "We're planning to put Smart TVs in every room really soon!"

But that's just the beginning. They're also thinking about other ways to make the motel even better for their guests.  They want the Nautilus Lodge Motel to be more than just a place to sleep—they want it to be a highlight of their guests' trips.

"We want our guests to feel at home and have everything they need for a comfy stay," Diane says. Graeme nods in agreement, adding that their aim is for every guest to leave with great memories and a desire to come back.

With their passion and forward-thinking ideas, Graeme and Diane are ready to make the Nautilus Lodge Motel a top choice for both visitors and locals looking for quality accommodations and fantastic service.
