Nelson Airport was evacuated just before 9am this morning after a threatening email.
Nelson Airport has resumed its operations following a threatening email that prompted the terminal to be evacuated and flights to be halted, just before 9am this morning.
Communications manager at Nelson Airport, Beth Catley, says the terminal and runway reopened just before 10am, and while there were queues at the airline check-in, passengers were "calm".
"We will get back on track before too long," she says.
Police says it attended Nelson Airport after receiving an email of a concerning nature and were investigating the email source.
"We are working to establish the origin of the email and have yet to establish any actual threat," Police says.
"Police acknowledge how unsettling these emails are for all concerned. We’d like to thank all involved for their cooperation as we investigate these emails."
Police says it is confident there is no ongoing threat.
