Land Search and Rescue (LandSAR) have located a body in the Richmond Ranges.
LandSAR began a search for missing man Petr Cech, from Czechia, known as the Czech Republic, on Tuesday after he was reported missing on Sunday. The physical search for him got underway on Tuesday.
Teams located a body on Wednesday, however, formal identification of the body is yet to be completed.
A police spokesperson said Cech was last seen on May 4 at Hunters Hut in Marlborough’s Richmond Ranges, on the Te Araroa Trail. His intentions were to head north to Tarn Hut.
A police spokesperson says police will conduct enquiries on behalf of the Coroner, who will release their finding in due course.
