One new active case for Top of the South

Another case of Covid-19 has been confirmed in the Nelson community, bringing the total number of active cases in the region to 20.

One of these 20 active cases remains in Nelson Hospital though this patient is not in intensive care or a high dependency unit.

The Ministry of Health announced Tuesday afternoon that there were 98 new community cases in Aotearoa.

One of these cases includes an Enner Glynn School staff member who has been in isolation since their infective period began last Saturday.

Public health officials will continue to manage several hundred contacts associated with exposures at two schools in Nelson.

As of Tuesday 87 per cent of residents within the Nelson Marlborough District Health Board have had their second vaccination dose while 93 percent have received their first dose.

To date, 93% of eligible people in New Zealand have had their first dose and 88% are fully vaccinated.''

There are three pop-up testing sites are open in Nelson-Tasman today including:

  • Saxton Fields carpark, Suffolk Rd, Stoke, 9am to 6pm
  • Richmond Showgrounds, 359 Lower Queen St, 9am to 6pm
  • Motueka Recreation Centre: Old Wharf Rd, Motueka, 9am to 3pm
