Sightings of missing Nelson woman sought

Nelson Police are continuing to seek sightings of a Nelson woman who was reported missing on Friday.

50-year-old Carole Marfell is described as being around 170cm tall.

A police spokesperson says there are "real concerns for her welfare".

Police have an unconfirmed sighting of Carole in the Rabbit Island reserve area on Saturday morning.

As a result, search and rescue teams completed a search of this area on Saturday night and Sunday morning without success.

Carole resides in The Brook but could be anywhere in Nelson.

She is known to frequent areas where there is water, like beaches.
