While Bay Dreams in Nelson is no more, local music fans were still eager for a taste of summer sounds.
Fans were excited as they queued for the doors to open for the sold out show, with L.A.B headlining accompanied by Sir Dave Dobbyn and Troy Kingi.
With a strong kiwi flavour of music royalty, Sublime with Rome, who boast former members of American ska band Sublime, were originally on the line up before pulling out of the New Zealand leg of their tour.
Speaking to the Nelson App ahead of the concert, L.A.B's fronting vocalist and guitarist Joel Shadbolt says they're always excited to play in Nelson.
"There's always a beautiful community vibe amongst the people and it's a stunning part of the country to visit.
"Everyone is always so welcoming. We're from the Bay of Plenty, and the weather is always similar to home."
