Last month Dr Shane Reti visited Nelson and confirmed that planning for the Nelson Hospital rebuild is progressing quickly. Dr Reti said the detailed business case has been brought forward and that National is fully committed to delivering this key infrastructure for our community. In addition to delivering better health infrastructure, National is committed to improving health outcomes, particularly for the thousands of Kiwis affected by cancer. National’s $604 million funding boost for Pharmac means eligible cancer patients will get free access to up to 26 life-extending medications. The first of these, Keytruda, is available from October 1.

It was fantastic to spend time with the Prime Minister at the National Party’s 2024 Annual Conference as a Young Nat. Our Nelson-based deputy chair Blair Cameron MCed the conference along with young Pasifika leader Angee Nicholas. FamilyBoost registrations are now open

FamilyBoost helps families by reimbursing up to 25% of their early childhood education fees, with up to $75 per week or $975 every three months. Nelson households earning up to $180,000 can register now through Inland Revenue’s myIR platform.
