Fire guts shed in Richmond

A shed in Richmond has been destroyed by a large fire this evening.

The shed, off Paton Rd and near the Bateup Rd roundabout, has been gutted by the blaze, which started shortly after 6pm.

Fire crews from Richmond and Nelson worked to put it out.

The shed is one of several on the property owned by Paton Rise Ltd, a syndicate which is developing a subdivision next door. Spokesperson Duane Whiting told the Nelson App that the shed was empty and he didn't think anything of value would have been lost in the blaze.
