Water break in Nelson CBD

There has been a water main break near the Vanguard Street/ Hardy Street roundabout.

Nelson City Council says its contractor is working to repair this, but it has impacted the water supply to some nearby commercial properties in the area.

"As a result, our contractors are flushing water mains in the city centre today."

Council says if discolouration occurs when you turn on your inside taps, it recommends running your outside taps for a few minutes until the water inside your house runs clear.

"There is also traffic management in place, so please avoid this area if possible. Thanks for your patience while this repair work takes place."
