A man has died following a workplace incident in Golden Bay

Police have announced a man has died following a workplace incident in Puramāhoi Tuesday morning.

Emergency services were called to an address on Takaka-Collingwood Highway at around 10am.

The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter arrived at the scene between Patons Rock and Onekaka at about 10.30am.

Police say they will be investigating on behalf of the Coroner.

On Wednesday Worksafe say they are now investigating  the workplace fatality.

"As the matter is now under investigation we are unable to make any further comment," a statement reads.
